I am in a h2h standard cat keeper league...coming into the draft I have 5 good players but no assist...I am trying to decide if I should trade my 6th over all pick for Steve Nash or take my chances with a PG in the draft...I want to get somebody with great Ast, ST, 3pm, and FT%....

Here are my Keepers:
Amare
Bynum
Caron Butler
Durant
Granger

Here is the top 10 in AST PG List:
Jose Calderon
Raymond Felton
Andre Miller
Earl Watson
Kirk Hinrich
Brandon Roy
Mo Williams
Steve Blake
Jamal Crawford
Rajon Rondo
Rafer Alston
Anthony Carter
Jameer Nelson
Devin Harris

What should I do?

Well if you can get Nash with the 6th overall (which realy is a 6th rounder) you would be crazy not to do that deal, otherwise I would just roll the dice and see who's available at 6th pick or even just ditch assists.

ok he wants me to give him my first 2 picks...but that obviously doesn't work out mathmatically...so I countered with my first 2 picks for his 3rd round pick and nash....or maybe I should say nash for my 1st and 3rd pick..

I think 1st+3rd for Nash would be a great deal for you.

In any case,as AlciG pointed out,Nash would be basically your 6th and 7th round picks which is pretty awesome IMO.Unless there are a surprisingly rich amount of non keepers available in the draft then I'd say trade for Nash.

If the trade fails, though it is not easy to predict who is available in your draft,I'd try to snag someone like Derrick Rose with the 6th pick.Given that it is a keeper league and he will fill your need at least partially this season and fully in upcoming seasons,he would be my target at 6.
