Wow. Bad draft. Need help.

Post#1 » by jorgo » Thu Oct 23, 2008 5:25 am

Roto - 8 standard cats (no TO`s), 12 team league on Yahoo.

Just seem to miss out on decent C`s at every point, really annoyed with the way things have gone. as my blocks are completely stuffed. Any suggestions? I think i`ll try and move Nowitzki for Brand or wait for the season to start and then trade someone who has a good start to the year.

Thoughts? input ? Any other deficiencies besides blocks?

PG Andre Miller
SG Vince Carter
G Mike Miller
SF Carmelo Anthony
PF Dirk Nowitzki
F Ron Artest
C Kevin Love
C Brook Lopez
Util Francisco Garcia
Util T.J. Ford
BN Marc Gasol
BN Earl Watson
BN Etan Thomas
BN Charlie Villanueva
BN Chris Duhon

Bright spots....
Charlie V (I'm very high on him) he can be a monster, and is starting PF.
Marc Gasol should prove to be a good nba player.
Kevin Love (see Marc Gasol)

Question marks...
Vince Carter has another Wince Carter season written all over him again.
Mike Miller has questions marks.

Pick up Dampier. He's what you call a "specialist" and will get you rebounds and blocks. And thoughts about it. But you're pretty much guaranteed at the very minimum 8 rebounds. But most of the time he'll go for 10+ and 2 blocks. I'd probably drop Francisco Garcia for him

DO NOT drop Garcia, he will be a valuable piece this year. He was in the top 100 with sporadic minutes, he will either start or be the first wing off the bench in Sactown. I'd drop Duhon, Watson will likely start in OKC and he put up solid ast and stl numbers last season. Duhon faces a timeshare with the glut of guards the knicks have and his FG% sucks. I'd personally look to deal VC, you may be able to get a solid big in return for him, in that case keep Duhon because you'll need the assists you'd lose with VC departing. I think your big situation is salvageable, Thomas is a board/block specialist in the mold of Damp and hes going to get heavy minutes since Haywood is out.

Charlie V does not play Defense and will not last in skiles system. Also he shoots a horrid % absolutely nothing to be high on about.

your center spot is alright with gasol who should be serviceable and dirk who can play C. Remember brand doesn't get the C elig that dirk gets.

Miller has ZERO question marks and is very good, you have 5 centers on your roster at least.

carter blows - just try to move him and change for biedrins, okefor, boozer, or dalembert

I'm def high on some miller - got him on all 3 of my teams

garcia has to stay and +1 on getting dampier or perhaps turiaf or maxiel

Charlie may not play defense but he can give you 20/10 a night with a sprinkle of a couple of steals and blks.

Dirk is only PF
Brand has PF/C

Sonuds like VC is the man to go. Although since Kidd left last season, he was putting up top 7 stats in 8 cats. So i'm willing to give him a bit of a run to start the year.

I'll take a look tonight at who i can pick up off waivers (eg. Damps) i know turiaf is there.

I ended up with 5 centers because i went into panic mode to fill the position, so missed a lot of value/high upside guys. Hopefulyl 1 or 2 of them can be serviceable and be aroudn top 100.

cheers for the input

my mistake on brand/Dirk I don't own either player.

However I am 100% right about Charlie V, if u don't play D you don't get mins under skiles who is his coach. You can't get 20/10 while on the bench. Hey we will see thats half the fun of fantasy bbal
