Zach Randolph and similar players

Post#1 » by He Hate Me » Mon Nov 17, 2008 8:37 pm

When you take a player relatively late in the draft (past the 5th) and they explode, what should you do with them? A guy like Randolph for example, was selected by me decently late, and he's playing great... should I sell high or be very happy with my high value pick? I am trying to package him with some inferior players to land Bosh. Is he worth that? Are under-producing names worth more or less than over-producing semi-good players, ie. would you trade RANDOLPH for BRAND right now straight up?
I'm just trying to get into heaven, it's not like I'm gonna run for Jesus.

Honestly, i'd hang on to him. As a knicks fan Zach is the real deal in this system, his REBS will level out after a while but he's really dominating statistically under D'Antoni. Also, depending on your league he probably won't fetch value because of his rep (i'd really doubt anyone would trade Bosh for Zach +filler) so I'd be happy with him as a late round pickup.
