Immediate Advice Needed

Post#1 » by NetsForce » Fri Dec 5, 2008 11:39 pm

I have JR Smith and have a deal on the table for Tyson Chandler. I'm in a 14 team H2H league.

When I look at the team stats page and go to "total stats" I'm 2nd to last in 3ptm but 6th in blocks total, and 6th in rebounds total.

I'm:

2-3 in 3ptm category through 5 weeks
2-1-2 in blocks category through 5 weeks
4-1 in rebounds category through 5 weeks

Should I trade JR Smith for Tyson Chandler?

I mean although I'm 2-3 in 3ptm right now, I'm not sure if I can keep winning that category (as indicated by my very low 3ptm total).

Should I take 3ptm?

Interesting.

It's a tough call, it would depend on the rest of your roster. Chandler will pick it up, but since you're doing good in rebounds, I would stay put for now.

Well I ended up accepting the trade but here is my team pre-trade:

Rajon Rondo
Kobe Bryant
Jose Calderon
Andre Iguodala
Gerald Wallace
Wilson Chandler
Emeka Okafor
Andray Blatche
Trevor Ariza
Ramon Sessions
J.R. Smith
Nene Hilario
Francisco Garcia

What I figure is that I win the steals and assists category every week with virtually 100% certainty. Now that I have Tyson the same can basically be said for the rebound category... As a result of the trade I also feel like I've transformed my team into a good shot blocking team, and gained a nice boost in FG%...

Since this is a 9-cat league if I can win the 5 listed categories every week I'm basically sitting pretty for the playoffs.

I guess my only concern is that Bryant and Iguodala have struggled from 3 but have recently started to pick up their play, with my addition of Garcia I guess it's somewhat possible that keeping J.R. might have allowed me to be competitive in 3PTM too =\...

Oh well this was a bit of a risky move but hopefully it works out in the end

It is a tough call because JR can carry a team in 3's. But a 14 team league and seeing your roster I would do it......
I'm so tired of the typical......

So Kelena Azubukkake and Chris Andersen are both sitting on the waiver wire, do you guys think they're worth dropping Blatche for?

I'm tempted to just pick Azubukake up as he'd help replace the scoring that I lost when I traded JR... On the flipside Andersen would solidify my blocks category.
