3 players...Better Keeper for next season. (Update 4P now!))

Post#1 » by Death Knight » Thu Apr 9, 2009 10:13 pm

Andre Miller vs Mike Bibby vs Jamal Crawford.

My first 2 keepers are pretty clear cut, Chris Paul and Amare Stoudemire, but my 3rd and last keeper is up in the air.

Coming into this season, Andre Miller was my 3rd keeper. Should he still be my 3rd keeper for next season? I kinda like him except for the fact that he doesn't give me any 3s.

I'm not really a big fan of Crawford, but I included him because he is still a capable 20+ ppg scorer, albeit on a very insufficient %. With that said, it might depend on where he plays come next season if he gets traded by Don Nelson, since I doubt he will opt out of his last year of his contract with all that money left.

Mike Bibby is a free agent, so once again, it might depend on whether he sticks with the Hawks or goes elsewhere.

20 teams, h2h standard 9 cat.

BTW, I am currently in a 3rd place match up for this last week since I lost in the semi finals last week. Losing Amare really hurt me.

UPDATE
Someone in the league dropped Manu Ginobili several days ago and I was able to pick him up using waiver today. The guy had 3-4 better keepers anyways, so I guess it didn't matter for him. Plus, he is in the championship game, so he's gotta do what he can to win.

So with Manu Ginobili in the mix, does it change anything? I know he'll be 32 years old going into next season and may have prolonging injury concerns going forward, but just thought I'd throw his name into the mix now that I have him.

I'm leaning towards Miller again. Bibby may be 2 years younger, but he has put on more mileage than Miller for coming into the league a bit earlier.

Crawford is a very good fantasy player on the right team. That is, one that doesn't care for FG%. That's not the case for you, so he's out.

For me, it's btw Bibby and Andre. Bibby started off very nicely but has cooled off. He's got more typical PG stats like low FG% and 3s. But Miller's higher FG% is offset by the fact he doesn't shoot any 3s. In those 2 cats, Bibby is definitely overall better.

Look, as you said, I think it depends on where Bibby goes. Those 2 3s per game is the thing you have to really take a hard look at when comparing the 2 players. At this stage, it's a toss-up.

Whatever the case, you are in good stead with Paul and Amare, #1 and #2, in a 20-teamer!

It is between Miller and Bibby as well.

Bibby is a free agent but so is Andre Miller.I expect both of them to stay with their teams though.

It is close but I think I'll go with Dre and consider tanking 3's altogether. If you go with Dre,along with Paul/Amare,you will be building around Assists/steals/fg%/ft% and if you can add some shot blockers/rebounders in the draft, that would make you a pretty strong team in a 20 teamer

Andre Miller is two years older than Bibby and four years older than Crawford. Having said that I prefer Andre Miller's relatively steady fg% and ability to pass the ball to his team mates. Although the Hawks are such a sexy up and coming team, that Bibby could still have some monster years....Tough call. Prolly Miller.

In that case,I think I'll go with Manu even though he burned me down this year in a 20-teamer.His per game rank this year was still very good(27th) and far better than Bibby(48th) and Dre(61st).He is one year younger than Dre as well and he would fit with your other keepers very well. Nice steal IMO.

Check how many games Andre Miller has played in the last 9 seasons.

Quick answer: you won't find one year where's played less than 80. Go with Miller.

Take Manu.

With CP3 and Amare, the age on your last player doesn't really matter.

Go with the BPA, and that's Manu.
