Seeking keeper advice

Post#1 » by hsiaokang0903 » Tue Jun 16, 2009 5:20 am

I am in a 14-team roto league , std 9-cat plus OREB and A/T
Each team gets to keep 5 players, and I am having a hard time deciding who to keep. Here is my roster.

Players I would definitely keep:
Deron Williams
Dwight Howard

Also considering:
Kevin Martin
Al Horford
Eric Gordon
Rajon Rondo
Rudy Gay
Monta Ellis

Not likely:
Ronnie Brewer
Mike Conley
Boris Diaw

I intend to keep Horford and Rondo since both players provide good OREB and A/T for their positions.
Martin may be the best player I am considering, but with Howard on the team I dont know how much he could help in terms of FT%.
Gordon is an upside pick and a top 50 fantasy player since he became a starter.
Gay and Ellis were down last season, but are young and have the tools to become stars in the league.

It's really a tough decision. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Those last two cats really kill you. Kevin Martin would be a must keep, but gives you nothing in the bonus cats.

You know what, I'd keep Horford. Low TOs, good offensive rebounds.

I'd keep Rondo, Horford and Martin, as well as Howard and Deron,

Thank you Stanford!
Actually I managed to get top 3 scores in both bonus cats because of role players like delonte and battier.
Martin is a elite player, but as you mentioned, he does not grab orebs and can really hurt you in A/T. That's why I am also considering Eric Gordon. same position, slightly lower production but 5 years younger.
Thats being said I would probably still keep Martin as you suggested simply because it's hard to dump a player of his caliber in a dynasty league.
Again your insight is greatly appreciated.
