Well actually I have given this one a bit thought and I have an idea:

The gist of the mock draft is basically to prepare ourselves into the new season. But also it demonstrates the drafting skills of each gm. So in order to find out who did the best in the draft, I have following suggestion:
-Roto-league
-Add/Drops forbidden
-No trades allowed

So you go with the roster you have drafted for the whole season. The results in that case would definitely be a good indicator of who had the best draft(a.k.a the winner of the Real GM Mock Draft Challenge 09/10).

How does it sound ?

Maybe you dont even need to play the league. Just take all players on each roster, add up the stats and then rewards points following the yahoo scoring system. You'll find out who won, without having to be carefull of inactive managers, mistakes etc.

Yeah that sounds doable. I can take care of that with a couple of spreadsheets and post the results at the end of each month.

So, can I trade my draft order from this league to the FFL league? I wouldn't mind the 1st pick there. Also, I don't mind making my pick and rationale early if it's allowed....

Ok then,I'm changing the name to Mock Draft Challenge.I'll take care of scoring via spreadsheets and will post the results at the 1st of each month. The winner at the end gets the bragging rights and will be referred as the "Draft Guru of Real GM Fantasy board" until next year.

There wont be any need to sign up on yahoo, just make sure that the roster you drafted fits the roster requirements(meaning : dont draft 10 pg's)

-Roster Positions: PG, PG, SG, SG , G , SF, SF, PF, PF, F, C, C, UT, UT

Please make sure that you draft a roster that meets the roster requirements

Gm's can start making their picks. I think writersblock will make his pick very soon.

However the clock will officially start ticking at 9 AM EST,20th of July.

No surprises with either pick. CP3 is top player in fantasy. Bron with his improved ft% is clear cut no. 2.

Very interesting choice at 3. I didnt expect Durant to go that early. My guess was more around 7-9 range

for me durant is nobrainer top 5 player. cp3 and lbj are 1st tier. 2nd tier would be wade, durant and granger. wade looks like an obvious choice here, but he played with a huge chip on his shoulder last year and had a career year. while i believe he will be in top 5 again, i don't think he'll be as good. durant's numbers improved when carlesimo was fired and he was moved to sf which is his natural position, so his final stats are deflated a bit. what's more important is that he still has huge upside. i don't think that anyone would be too surprised if by this time next year we're talking about him as of hands down best fantasy player in the league. finally in his 6 years in the league wade has played 61 or less games 3 times, including 51 twice in the last 3 years. he still relies heavily on driving to the hoop which is the main reason behind all those missed games. i'm just not ready to take such injury prone player with 3rd pick when there is such a great alternative available

I also expected him to go in the latter half of the top ten, but I can't argue with the pick, especially in a roto draft.

Durant is a monster already. My mock had him at #7.
