Is this, in your opinion, corrupt actions for a commisioner to take in a keeper league?

In my keeper league, before the draft, each GM sends in a list of their keepers. They can have either 3 or 4 keepers. Those who choose 3 get to draft their 4th keeper in a special round that has all of the players who arent keepers. There is a deadline for when you can send in your keepers. This deadline came and passed. The round where GM's with 3 keepers get to select a fourth came and went, and the real draft was about to start. I have the first pick in the draft. I am ready to make my selection, when the commisioner tells us that one of the GM's who had 4 keepers had decided to switch to 3 and was going to pick a new player. The guy was there all around the deadline. He was there all around the pre-draft. He only decided to change his mind after he saw who every had picked for their fourth keeper.

Is this ok for a commisioner to do? He had everybody vote and I believed only I and the person with the second pick said no. I mean, nobody else cares because they arent really affected by this at all and Im sure some have their eye on the guy he dropped from his team, but there is a very high chance that this guy is going to take the player I wanted.

Well if there was a rock solid deadline then the other gm shouldnt be allowed to change his keepers.

What is the commish' explanation for doing so? And it could also open a can of worms as next year every gm will probably do the same thing.

Yep, there was a rock solid deadline. The guy was on the board all around the deadline, he recieved a personal message from at least 1 gm telling him about the deadline, but he still didnt change his keepers. The commisioners reasoning is:

"Yeah, yeah, I hear ya, it's a consensus thing. And me and my last pick of the first round don't feel that bad for you. You're just going have to chill and believe that I'll do the right thing. K?".

So basically I get punished because I have the first pick in the first round and he has the last, even though it is a snake styled draft .

IMO you should just drop out of the league. He doesnt seem to be fit to be a good commish.

I was in a league where he was commish last year and we had a similar problem just he was screwing a different GM over. The guy made his pick and it was pretty terrible so I should be fine, but if there are any more shenanigans I will probably drop out. Thanks for your advice man.

Yeah, that's not "corrupt" in the sense that it doesn't reek of collusion and abuse of power. But I don't like how he's hiding behind the vote to rationalize his bending of the rules.

For serious leagues, rules are there for a reason; leaving rule-breaking to a vote is silly. Even if there is evidence that the owner had no way of meeting the original timing due to family or personal reasons - there is no circumstance to allow bending rules. Period.

The alternative is that your league really isn't very serious, so he's just accommodating everyone in a manner to not hurt feelings. Maybe he knows many of you personally - so he thinks it's just a fun league. But if there is money at sake (not just pride and trash talk) then he really can't bend the rules unless he's conferred with you all first.
