a 12 team H2H league,
roaster being: PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, Util, Util, BN, BN, BN
and cats are: FG% FT% 3PTM 3PT% PTS REB AST ST BLK TO
so how many 3pts, pts, reb, ast, st, blk in a week would be competitive?
i am focusing on some cats but dont want to overkill.

Re: What is average?
Competitive stats are all relative to how the rest of the draft goes. If you are trying to be better than most in each catagory: 1.) you won't achieve it 2.) you'll end up in the middle of the pack anyways.
I guess my advice would be to focus on guys with good %'s that do a little bit of everything, as well as taking anyone who falls way below their value. At the end of the draft, take a risk on some rookies or specialists who will get you 1 stat and nothing else (most commonly something like Turiaf and blocks, or steve blake and assists).
Overkill can be a good thing, because than you can trade someone who is a steal or block machine for someone of higher value, and your loaded stat won't be as effected.

Excellent advice. Drafting Turiaf in the last round is something I try to do in every draft.

Good article. You left out some guys (I still like Steve Blake for asts and Jeff Foster for rebounds), but the information is really useful.

On a per player, per game average somewhere near 16 points, 6 boards, 3.5 assists, 2 tos, 1 three, 1 steal, 48%/78% with around .8 blks should be competitive. I have no idea about 3PT%.
