Auction Draft Strategy?

Whats the idle auction draft strategy?

I usually wait for the middle rounds and try to load up on as much talent as cheaply as possible, but apparently a lot of people seem to be catching up. Also like to nominate players that I don't want early on for obvious reasons.

So whats the idle counter-strategy? I hate wasting 35- 40% of my budget on guys like Lebron and CP3.
