Rate my Draft, any advice and/or suggestions...

Hi guys,

Just finished a draft in an office pool, where pride, and Money is on the line:

The league is a standard yahoo H2H league, with only slight variations in positiosn:

PG, SG, G, SF, F, 2 x PF, C, 2 x Util, 2 bench...so total of 13 picks, and 2 PF, instead of the typical 2 C's in yahoo leagues.

My Team below, including rounds and picked where:

Cyrus Anklebreakers:

1. (2) LeBron James
2. (31) Gerald Wallace
3. (34) David Lee
4. (63) Anthony Randolph
5. (66) Russell Westbrook
6. (95) Chris Duhon
7. (98) Trevor Ariza
8. (127) Corey Maggette
9. (130) Tracy McGrady
10. (159) Andray Blatche
11. (162) Jarrett Jack
12. (191) Ronny Turiaf

My team doesn't really shoot many 3's so that's a weakness, and potentially not a good free throw with LBJ there...

Any suggestions of any adds/drops, potential trades i should hit up, so i can claim the #1 spot, thanks in advance.

I'm kinda of weak at SG spot, as only T-mac qualifies at SG spot, and Jarrett Jack. So really only JJ till T-mac is "Healthy".

In my opinion your team is decent I also think you are weak at the SG position too and also kinda weak at the center position.

As for suggestions for adds I would take a look at hmmmmm maybe Cook if he is there he'll help you with the threes alittle bit and add a bit of depth in the SG positions. Maybe look at Bobby Simmons or Terrence Williams(If neither are drafted.) to add depth and maybe Flip Murry.

I know it isn't the greatest suggestion while it's not the worse but something to think about to add some depth on the SG positions.

Maybe take a look at Rasho for the center position too a player who I would suggest to drop is maybe Turiaf and probably take a look what you can get in return for a trade.

Hey Cyrus,

Not a bad team. I wouldn't worry about positions. Last time I checked, Yahoo doesn't count positions as a category in scoring. You've got enough guys who play guard to fill the slots every week. What you're really missing is a center. I'm just not that high on Turiaf...and I'm even lower on Don Nelson.

What I'd worry about most with your team is what strengths you have. It looks like points and boards could be pretty good. How are your other categories? 3s? You could use a boost there. I'd pick up Carlos Delfino. Assists could use a little bump too, I think.

See it's not typical yahoo, I only need 1 C spot filled, although I'd like to trade Lee for Brook Lopez, who'll get me a few more blocks at expense of rebounds which is fine by me.

I took Turiaf cause i wanted blks...

But other C are available like Ben Wallace, guards are available as well, like Luke Ridnour, Delfino, the other Bucks guy who was from europe...CDR, amongst others...

What do you guys think of an offer recently made to me:

Andrew Blatche and Anthony Randolph for Troy Murphy, and a scrub (Tim Thomas).

Essentially the same team as above except Turiaf is replaced with Jared Dudley...

There are lot of good starter type players available in the fa list, like Tyson Chandler, Kirk Hinirch, Hakeem Warrick, Delfino, Aaron Affollo, etc.

If not that, I might be able to swing a Blatch/Randolph/Duhon or extra for Jose and Murphy. Considering i need an upgrade at the point.

Andray Blatche doesn't have much value now that Antwan Jamison is back... Though Randolph for Murphy is an interesting trade I think ultimately I would reject the trade... Murphy is just much more consistent and you won't have to deal with him getting his minutes jerked around.

Do either trades.

The first trade where you acquired Troy Murphy, gives you a top 30 fantasy player for two top 100 fantasy players. And it's a classic case of sell high - buy low kind of deal. Where you are selling Blatche's high and buying Murphy low. And like you said, you can still get a player similar or only a few notch below in terms of fantasy value of Blatche with Tyson, Hinrich and Warrick (in that order).

The second trade is the kind of deal where you can destroy your friendship with your officemate. :D Jose Calderon right?

+1. First trade is very good for you since Blatche's value will go down significantly with the return of Jamison. Randolph is not getting playing time and since Nelson is trying to get himself fired he wont probably give him playing time unless he has to due to injuries(like last night)

The second deal is veto worthy though.
