Hello. Im looking for some advice in regards to a trade proposal I received. I was offered Caron Butler for Derek Rose and OJ Mayo. I need help with assists, steals mostly. I'm struggling with this given the fact of how good Butler really is. Here is my roster and thanks allot..--->

Would you do Rose for Caron straight up? Right before I accepted the trade I picked up Monta Ellis off of waivers which is why I was able to let Mayo go. The deal broke down like this for me. Derek Rose and OJ Mayo for Caron Butler and Monta Ellis. Does that sound a little bit better?

I'm almost opposed to trading Rose in principle right now because you'd be selling very, very low. I'm a Bulls fan, and I can tell you that he doesn't look like himself right now on account of his ankle injury. Give him time to show how much he's grown in the offseason.

That said, I'd be tempted to trade him for Caron. Probably wouldn't do it, but if your gut tells you to go for it, I wouldn't say you got robbed. The intangibles with Caron are whether he can duplicate his production from the last two years now that Arenas is back in the line-up, and the injury risk. His assist rate in the early going worries me. Gilbert has the ball in his hands an awful lot, which may mean there aren't many playmaking opportunities left for Butler.

I definitely wouldn't trade Rose and Mayo for Butler and Ellis. Mayo > Ellis, IMO (many would disagree, I'm sure), and there's a chance that Rose finishes the year ahead of Butler. it'd suck to be twice the loser in that scenario.

As a final thought, your squad is ridiculous. I wouldn't be looking to tinker much, if at all, if I were you.

THanks for the feedback. It is greatly appreciated. With the deal now done this is my new lineup. Still pretty ridiculous I think.

Another thing that pushed me to deal rose was Jennings. I got him as a Free Agent and he looks to be someone who will put up some good numbers this season. My PG spot was basically set with Williams, Ellis and Jennings. I guess only time will tell if it was a good deal.

I have one open roster spot and I've been looking at Salmons, Crawford, Scola and Haywood.

It's far from the worst trade ever, but I think that at the end of the day, your team lost value. Maybe I am wrong, though. I got my ass beat 6-3 last week so who the eff am I?

haha.. Good point. WIth fantasy you just never know. If my pool was a keeper league you can bet Mayo and Rose would have not been traded.
