Brandon Roy for Josh Smith/Jameer Nelson

Post#1 » by ChronicKerr » Mon Nov 9, 2009 9:36 pm

TO league, I'd be getting Roy. Is this a good deal for a roto league that only starts 6 players?

PG: Arenas
SG: Durant
SF: Smith
PF: Lopez
C: Noah
Util: Nelson

That is my current starting lineup.

I would move Durant to SF and insert Roy in at SG. I'm so far ahead in blocks (roto) it's silly so far. I'm light in 3's and points thus far. I can play Love/Scola at util if I do this trade but ideally I'd be able to find another guard to choose from there as well (I have Wilson Chandler but he's stnk it up so far). We can only play 82 games at each position so I cna't stream players at util. Good plan for me to offer this?

Let me get this straight......we're 7 to 8 games into the season....and you're so far behind in blocks that you'd be willing to give up JSmoove ( a solid shotblocker ) and a decent PG like Jameer Nelson to get Brandon Roy?

Brandon is good....but I'd keep a Stat Stuffer like JSmoove at the SF spot.

^---No, I'm so far AHEAD in blocks with also playing Lopez/Noah that I'm willing to give up Smith to get Roy. Still a good deal now? I'm double digits ahead in blocks from 2nd place in a 12 team league right now with being in the 50's with 3 teams still in the teens.

Being in a roto league that starts only 6 players with 82 game limits on each position creating a balance roster is the key.

In a 6 spot league, Lopez and Noah should keep you more than healthy in blocks. I initially wanted to weigh heavily in favor of Smith/Nelson but neither is the man on there team. Scola should make up for the rebounds and Roy is still getting better. Like it.

I like it for you. In formats like this, the emphasis is on the best player in each deal, not depth. BRoy is the best player in the deal and a perfect Roto player. Get him!

Thanks for the help. If it were a H2H where you start 14 players I wouldn't do this deal bc the stats don't even out but I'm looking at it as now I get to play one of my bench players that I otherwise wouldn't use unless of an injury. I can use Love(when he gets back)/Scola/Peja for 3's as I'm still weak there/wilson chandler/Anthony Randolph if Nellie every comes around at util depending on what I need. I also dunno if Smith is going to keep up this top 10 pace.
