Any explanation on which exception the Lakers used for the Brown signing?
They used the MLE on Artest.
Seems like Brown is not Bird/Early Bird eligible, yet he was inked for what looks like 2.0 with a 2.4 p.o.
Anyone?

If the Lakers used their MLE on Artest and there are no Bird rights of any kind, and he got a deal beginning at 2M, I'd expect it to be the BAE.

And if the first year is $2 million, the PO can't be more than $2.2 mil. No matter how they signed him.

The Lakers used its BAE to sign Brown to a two-year contract with the second year being at the players option.
First year: $1,990,000
Second year: $2,149,200
