I have been looking all over for some info on his contract and cant find it. So I figure I would ask. I know he retired. But I saw some where his contract is still counting against the cap for kings this season (09-10). My question is this, is his contract still tradeable? Im sure its insurance covered and tax exempt but can his contract still be packaged in a deal? A similar example would be the knicks trying to trade mobely's contract who also retired due to medical reasons. I would love some inut on this. Thanks

The Kings waived Abdur-Rahim when he retired last fall, so what remained of his contract could not be traded. I believe the league gave the Kings a career-ending injury exception so that his contract no longer counts against their cap. On the other hand, while no longer able to play, Mobley remains on the Knicks' roster and his contract is still tradable.
