Sorry if this was posted before, but I just have a quick question. They are projecting that next summer, the salary cap will fall to 50 million? Why such a drastic decrease? I know the economy is hurting, but this year, the salary cap only dropped about 1 million or so. Also, is the projection just a wild estimate? What are the chances that the projection is wrong and the salary cap doesn't drop as much?
Just wondering...

Re: Quick Question About 2010 Offseason Salary Cap
Before each season the league think of the projected income from the NBA. they call that number BRI (Basketball Realated Income). The BRI includes Regular season gate receipts, Broadcast rights, Exhibition game proceeds, Playoff gate receipts and much more things of the sort...
They take some % from the BRI and may change it a bit because of an unexpected fall/gain in last year BRI and thats how they decide what is the salary cap level...
I guess there is a projected huge fall next year in the BRI which will impact on the salary cap level...
