Question regarding his rights.
If his rights are traded, and the new team wants to sign him...
can the sign him via his bird rights? Or will they have to use an exception?
Or can it be S&T from ATL to new team?
Also, when is he moveable? July 1? Now? When his euro-deal expires (whenever that is)?

Re: Josh Childress
His "rights" cannot be traded. He can be dealt in a sign-and-trade (only) at this point and obviously is ineligible to sign a contract to play for an NBA as long as he is under contract to play for a team in some other league.

Re: Josh Childress
Childress is an NBA free agent and will be dealt with the same as any other. He can't be traded unless it' s a sign and trade, and he can't be signed if he's under contract to any team outside of the NBA.

Re: Josh Childress
I read in the Atlanta Journal Const he has an annual opt out with his Greek team, and read ATL has his rights as long as they QO him.
If he opts out and ATL doesn't QO him he is then UFA?
If ATL does QO him, can they then do the S&T as you both said, or are they bound to that $ amount the QO was for?

Yes.

If he opts out and Atlanta makes him restricted, he'll be a restricted free agent just like any other, and has the same options as any other RFA does. He can sign outside the NBA, sign an offer sheet with another NBA team which Atlanta has the chance to match, get his ass signed and traded, take the QO, or re-sign with Atlanta for an amount other than the QO.
