I have a proposal idea the league and players should go with. The current 1 and done is nice and all, but its hurting collegiate programs across the nation. There are also guys who get stuck going to college when clearly ready for the NBA such as Kevin Durant.
Make the rule either straight out of college, or you must wait until 2 years after graduating high school. This will give superstar athletes the way to go straight to the pro's. It will also help the college game by having guys who would just bail or pull an OJ Mayo and get your school on sanction trouble, it forces the players to either go straight, or come to school and take it seriously. I would say 3 years would be better, just like in the NFL and MLB, but might be a hard one to enact.

I can't see how Kevin Durant's one year at Texas hurt college basketball. Not compared to your proposed alternative of, say, 0 years at Texas.
