Question regarding Arenas Rule + BR
For a guy like Asik can Chicago offer him 5 years since they have his bird rights or do guys like him have to stick to the 4 year rule?

Since Chicago signed Asik in the summer of 2010, he will only have two years of service in the league. Therefore Chicago will only be able to us the Early Bird Exception to sign him this summer, not the full Bird Exception. Under the rules of the new CBA, Early Bird players are limited to contracts that cannot exceed four years in length.
