10 day contracts

Can someone explain to me how Marcus Thornton's 10 day contract for Cleveland lasted from 2/22/18 to 3/5/18. That's 12 days and 6 games in that span.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Cleveland then have to meet 14 contract minimum today?

Tomorrow technically IIRC. They have two weeks and the day after two weeks, they have to be in compliance.

Thank you. Makes sense. Cleveland did end up filling the last spot. What would have happened if they didn't? Is there a penalty?

As far as I know, it is simply a case of they must fill the final spot. I suppose the NBA could have refused to let them play or issued a huge fine.
