The San Antonio Spurs and guard Manu Ginobili have agreed to a three-year extension worth $38.9 million, a league source confirmed Wednesday.

The deal is the maximum the Spurs are allowed to offer Ginobili under the current collective bargaining agreement, based on Ginobili's current salary and age (32).

Any idea how the deal is structured?

arenas809, I was raised on the upper east side. Were you raised there or did you move there? If you were raised there, where did you go to school?

I would assume that it is simply 10.5% raises based on his current salary, which would be:

2010-2011 - $11,854,584
2011-2012 - $12,981,038
2012-2013 - $14,107,492
Total - $38,943,114

Anyone know if that 3rd year is fully guaranteed? With Duncan's contract expiring in 2012 that seems like it would be a good opportunity to shoot for cap space. A fully guaranteed 3rd year on Manu's extension would take a big bite out of potential cap space that offseason.
