What looks likely for changes in the upcoming CBA?
As a post-padder, I guess teams would (rookie deals aside) give up team options if player options went with them.
Maybe teams could choose between using the MLE and having a sort of trade exception for somebody who is unwanted and already on an MLE or smaller deal.
Maybe something along the lines of Rubio and Splitter not making their teams wait years until they need to get paid significantly more than their rookie deals would have dictated yet not in a way that completely takes away the player's right to swindle in a smaller way.
