Cap in Upcoming Years

With the BRI percentage going down from approximately 57% to 50%, the NBA decided to keep the salary cap at around $58 Mil. I would've expected to see a cap moving towards the 50/57 x 58 = $50.9 Mil range. However, this might not have seemed fair to teams that are currently carrying large cap numbers that they might be forced into lux tax territory.
Has the NBA provided any insight as to what the cap is going to be doing in upcoming years? Is it going to be gradually dropping over the next few years (maybe something like $58, 57, 55, 53) until the cap gets back to a similar percentage of the BRI as it was previously?
I'm sure the players under contract aren't going to like losing their 10% escrow payments to make up the difference.
