Hawes traded for picks?

Post#1 » by DBoys » Thu Feb 20, 2014 3:06 pm

If CLE has a trade exception, that's news to me.

I'm thinking that there's more to this trade than has been announced. Can anyone clarify?

si.com is saying the same thing, that Cleveland does not have a trade exception so players have to be involved.

The Cavaliers don’t have a traded player exception with which to absorb Hawes’ salary, so they will have to roughly match his incoming $6.5 million in order to make the deal legal. The other players in the deal were not immediately known.

I don't know what was announced at the time you posted this comment, but the salaries of Clark and Sims are sufficient to make the trade work.
