Every time I try to use the trade checker, this comes up and denies the trade:

Due to the L.A. Clippers being over the cap and having a post-trade Team Salary over the Tax Threshold, the 25% trade rule is invoked. the L.A. Clippers could not receive more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. However, the L.A. Clippers did not meet the requirements of the Hard Cap rules of staying under the Tax Threshold plus $4M for adjusted post-trade Team Salary.

I never realized this part, what does this mean for the Clippers trying to trade Blake Griffin? Is it pretty much impossible right now because of this?

I don't think the Clippers are Hard Capped. I'm like 99% sure they aren't. Is this on RealGM or ESPN?

I'll look in to it, but the Clippers aren't Hard Capped, so you shouldn't be getting a trade error because of that.

It's easy to know that the Clipps cannot possibly be hard-capped. A hard cap, if it exists, occurs at the apron, and prevents a team from exceeding that salary amount FOR ANY REASON. The LAC team salary is currently well above that number, ergo by definition they could not possibly be hard-capped.

So just to clarify, why am I blocked from making this trade on RealGM, but when I use the rough salary equivalent to represent Gallinari's salary on ESPN Trade Machine it goes through as acceptable?

It seems like the RealGM Trade Checker may have an error where it thinks LAC is Hard Capped. I'll send a note and see if that is what is happening.
