Randy Foyes cap hold

Post#1 » by TheBallDoLie » Wed May 23, 2018 8:09 pm

I was read Bobby Marks article on the Nets off season preview. He talks about keeping Randy Foyes cap hold on books for 2018-19 off season. I don't understand that.

Randy Foye wasn't on Nets last season. Can you keep players cap holds on the books for multiple seasons?

Cap holds stay on the books until a player is renounced or signs with another team. When teams are capped out, they generally don't bother renouncing players. In the Nets' case, they simple didn't have need for the extra space.
