Can a team over the apron trade, restricted to not take back more salary in trade, send out a vet min deal for another vet min deal on a player who’s been in the league longer? For example, could a first apron team trade their three year vet min player for a ten year vet min?
In other words, would the CBA compare the players’ total salaries, or the salary that the teams actually pay, to determine if a team was “taking back more salary?”

On an NBA-subsidized salary, the amount the team pays is all that counts on the cap, and therefore in trade matching calculations.
