salary cap - will it rise or fall?

last time the US economy was in as bad of shape as it is now was around 2001/2002 and that's the first and only time since the salary cap came about that the cap didn't rise. In fact, it fell about 2 million, which is pretty significant. And that could affect a lot of teams looking for cap space this summer. Is there any inkling as to what is going to happen to the salary cap this summer?

The league and its teams are making more money this year than last. So every indication are that the cap will rise.
