Re-signing waived player

The Magic waived Jeremy Richardson to avoid having his contract become guaranteed. But GM Otis Smith says they are interested in re-signing him later. How does this work? Can they resign him to a non-guaranteed contract for the rest of the year?

Are you sure there's a 30 day wait required? I think you are might be thinking of rules that apply to different situations rather than the one being asked about.

See also - Courtney Sims, who was signed waived a record 84 times by Indiana last year.

Once he clears waivers, they can sign him to a non-guaranteed contract.

I'd be tee-off if I was Courtney Sims. He got signed 84 times and probably only made per diem.
