Well, after everything is said and done, and he pays his agent, anyone else he employs, his taxes, and for his wife's ring collection, I'd say he'll probably have 65 Million left.

After paying everyone i guess at least 70.

He'd actually have around 90 million after taxes and paying his agent. It's not 50% tax rate.

Isn't he taxed by every state he plays in? Like say he makes 250k per game, and lets say the tax is 50% in....Illinois. He plays Chicago 2x a year, once in Illinois. For that game, he'll make 125k?

Not sure on his numbers, but it's sort of true. For example, detroit. If you live in a suburb, but commute in to the city to work, you have to pay some taxes to detroit. I'd imagine a lot of cities do that, and would also imagine it goes for sports teams, etc.

Now tell me you're kidding. OMFG. Dude you realize a salary is Federal. You pay state taxes where you reside and states taxes aren't 50% ever ever ever ever.

The Federal tax rate is 35% and the California tax rate is 10.3 % (maybe higher now). This does not include the high property tax and sales taxes he faces in California. He has less that $74 million left after paying the Federal and State taxes. If his agent takes 3% he has less than $70 million left.

There is no income tax in Florida. Florida does have higher property taxes than California. This is why you see a lot of rich people live there (i.e. Tiger Woods).

Pretty positive there was a big whoopdie doo about states requiring athletes to pay taxes for games played in their state. I don't know all the details, but I know it's been discussed recently. Not sure if it's all states, though.

He already owns a House in Newport, paid $4MM for it. Plus a home is and asset not a liability, he retains equity in it so you don't knock anything down. LOL at the responses about finance on this thread.

Every NBA player has to pay city and state taxes in every NBA city he works in. He only pays tax on what he made while playing in that state but yes Kobe pays state and income tax to every state with an NBA team.

For Kobe or any very high payed player you have to guess its less than 50%. Clowds forget about Kobe paying his FICA which is only 12k now but very likely will be raised in the near future. For people that make less than 100K they have to pay 35% fed 11%CA and then 11% for FICA.
