I thought I knew what they were....what are they?

They're basically player options with a few technical differences that don't really matter.

A partial or non-guaranteed contract is similar to an ETO only a team option.

If it's similar to a team option, how is it anything like an ETO? ETO's are the player's decision. It's up to them whether they want to be under contract to the pre-agreed terms or not, same as with a PO. But with TO's and NG's, it isn't.

A partial or non-guaranteed contract has a trigger date that turns the non-guaranty into a guaranty, correct?

Nothing about this sentence is correct. An ETO has nothing to do with partial or non-guarantees. The T in ETO stands for Termination, not Team. An Early Termination Option gives the player the option to terminate his contract at a point earlier than the end of the contract.

It can, but doesn't have to. Unless you are trying to refer to the Jan 10th guarantee. In which case, what does it have to do with anything.
