Strange Freezes

Post#1 » by Curmudgeon » Wed Sep 10, 2025 6:19 pm

What is going on today with strange freezes? It makes the forums almost unusable. I'm guessing that the advertising is messing up the platform, but that's just a guess.

Mine freezes on Windows 11 with chrome, and on Safari on my iPhone 16 Pro Max.

I'm wondering if phpBB can handle this database load, its probably the biggest phpBB forum on the internet. As much as we all love this classic format, it is very old and might be time to look into modern ones, even if you lose the posts. Maybe there's a way to keep post count, join date, and and1 count because that is what is important anyway

Nevermind, its the ads, because I installed some new adblockers and its working fine again. I'd love to support RealGM but the ads make it completely freeze up
