Color Scheme

Post#1 » by triplet1984 » Sun Jun 15, 2008 11:41 pm

The color scheme in the NBA forums desperately need to change. Why is EVERYTHING a slightly different shade of soft blue? It's an eye-sore. Please add some CONTRASTING COLORS.

You see... this may come as a shock to whoever decided on the design of the NBA forum colors... but VERY DARK COLORS + VERY LIGHT COLORS = CONTRAST... and CONTRAST = EASIER TO READ.

See that? the top nav area of RealGM is about fifty times more readable than the eyesore of an NBA forum. LIGHT. DARK. DARK. LIGHT. None of this "seven different shades of the same color" garbage please.

I just logged on and this color scheme is absolutely horrible. I don't want to look at any threads now. That's how bad it is.

I agree. Please put it back to how it was. It is so hard for me to see now. Not only that, but the page seems to be squished in the middle now where as before it used up more of my screen. What is the point of having a big screen if I can't use it?

Ironically, THIS forum's color scheme is much better and more readable and less of an eyesore than the NBA forums' blue-on-blue-on-blue.

I really can't handle the blue, its just so annoying. Many times i come on the site and just end up leaving because I don't even want to put effort into finding topics. Was the blue on nba forum some sort of joke?

well they made some adjustments to the color scheme and it has helped, there is actually some contrast, but it's not quite enough, again the wiretap is way more readable, but not a bad start.

Well the color scheme has been dialed down a bit on the nba forums and you can actually read it without getting a headache now. Thanks for improvements.

Still think you should make the thread topics a more contrasting color though.

The new colors are a big improvement.

However, one area that still needs to be darkened is the READ TOPICS. By that I mean, Topics that you have already clicked (I think this is a:visited in CSS style-sheets??) are still a soft baby blue, and lacking the right contrast.

I'd suggest either making visited topics an even darker color, or just keeping them the same color as "new" topics.

Thanks mods for making the improvements. I see even the "click-on topics" are a darker color now. The whole thing is about fifty times more readable now and not an eyesore anymore - i wasn't complaining just to complain, it really was hard to read but now it's quite good and easy to read.
