In case you are being serious, some religions (Judaism I believe) do not approve of writing the actual word, so that is how they write it.

Jews don't like to pronounce YHWH (which they say Yahweh) because it is very sacred in the Hebrew Scriptures. But I am sure they have no problem with writing YHWH, let alone God and saying God.

Jiggamant and Magic, you're both (somewhat) wrong.

It depends on what subgroup of Jews we're talking about. Some Jews have no problem with it. Others use "Hashem" (literally, "The Name") instead of one of the many titles in the scripture.
