The forum upgrade in retrospect
I remember many were complaining when the forum was upgraded and the look change but what is your opinion now?
I could not fathom going back to the way it was. Also it's quicker for me, didn't crash on draft night, and there is no pause at 3:00 a.m.

It's over a year that the search function doesn't work. So it's got that going for it.
I'd always thought of propane as a dignified lady. But she can also be a dirty girl.

The search function works fine for me. Maybe it's just us cool mods.

Re: The forum upgrade in retrospect
there was a pause at 3am? I never noticed that
I didn't really care about the change though. yes the first days and weeks after the upgrade were tough but in the end every feature came back (aside from PMing mods and searching but I never used the search function anyway).
but it was cool reading an old thread that's in the old design recently
here it is http://web.archive.org/web/200801122109 ... sc&start=0

well those occured to me on a regular basis (like once a week) and sometimes they lasted for a couple of hours. they never occured to me at a particular time though.

Re: The forum upgrade in retrospect
I remember that, it was every night at 4 am, I think. The forums would be down for about 5 minutes.

Re: The forum upgrade in retrospect
The forums are better but not being able to reply to PMs or sending them to mods suck. Now I have to complain about ElTurcos BS publicly instead of behind his back.

Re: The forum upgrade in retrospect
I just remembered 2 things that NEED to come back:
Automatic quote clipping. No more 3 imbed limit, the system takes care of it.
Automatic image resizing. Huge images get resized, not cropped at the right.

Where the **** is the search function? It's been over a year and we still don't have it. Think of all the old threads we could be bumping if it was working.
