It asks for a paid email and my friend really wants to sign up. For me an internet friend of mine hooked me up with an email on her site but I haven't seen that friend for a while.
What's the easiest way?

Me neither. Does he mean signing up to be able to post on the message boards? If that's the case, I didn't think it was that complicated. Of course, I could be wrong. I signed up way back in '02.

When you sign up now it has to be a paid email service. They changed it so it would be harder for PBP's to sign up. And as DR said, school/work emails are the best.

I have E-Mailed the adminstrator incharge of activating accounts.
He is having some internet trouble but hopefully he can get back to us soon.

Is there an easy way to change your realgm name? I thought of something funny I wanted to use.

Is there anyone that can hook me up with a spare school/work email type of thing? My friend has been bugging me a lot.

What's the easiest way?
Use the email address provided by your ISP - for example, Verizon provides an @verizon.net email address to all its subscribers. You could also use a school or university if that applies to you - all students get an @something.edu email address.
You can also try temporary email services (http://www.guerrillamail.com/), though I'm not sure if that works.
Once you sign up though, you can change your email address to your regular Gmail.
At least, this is what I did way back in 2006.
