What exactly constitutes "trolling" another board?

I was just giving out some info on the Celtics board and I received a warning from a Forum Mod for apparently trolling on the C's board. ANyone know?

You did not just give out info. You came in with intent to instigate. The thread titled "Key Point from the Laker Game" was to talk about an issue about a timeout and whether they would have granted said TO if Odom's basket had gone in. Your contribution was as follows:

So exactly how does that contribute to what the OP was saying? Your "intent" was to point out the Cs only won by 1 with Kobe being out meaning the Celtics were not good. You know your response was going to instigate other posters. Lets not try and cloud the facts. Thanks.

Ok I should have been clearer, it seems he got warned for saying "Kobe didn't play and the C's only won by a point. Kinda says a lot doesn't it". Now if a Celtics fan had said that its not a problem but since its someone else its trolling and he gets a Warning.

Are you sure about that? Because we got rid of a cancer on the board who said stuff like this all the time. Not only was he warned multiple times for it, but he was a Celtics fan who posted regularly.

Let's not act like we protect our own posters, like they're our cubs, and if anyone else comes in we chew their head off. It's off base.

Why is it that fans from another team are given a different standard than fans of the Celtics?

As a recently appointed Mod on the Celtic board and long time RealGM poster I would like to add something on this point. The team boards are for the fans of those teams while open to all it is home to some and while a place to visit for others. RealGM does not have a "Dump on the Knicks," or "Dump on the Lakers" forum and there is reason it isn't encouraged.

When I visit a different board than the Celtic board I conduct myself as a guest. I would not necessarily post things and express the frustration I would on the C's board. While every situation has its own context from my experience if you conduct yourself as a guest when you are not at home you will rarely be called a troll.
