That's the funny thing, though, I originally started posting on the Bulls board respectfully until I began to be attacked left, right, and center. The mods did nothing about it, so what type of example was being set there? I didn't earn the bad guy reputation regardless of what you think, sorry.... I was suspended for making a post that Miami is a more attractive city than Chicago for Christ's sake.
All I really have left to say. Everything else has been said already. Thanks for the serious reply.
I'm just going to ignore the baiting from now on....

I dont understand the context or the history behind your decision, but come on. Its common sense. Why would you go to the Bulls board and talk about how Miami is a better city. If a Raptors fan came onto the Heat board and said that Toronto was a better city, they would get warned.
The Wade comments suck. I saw some pretty messed up things too. Some guy said that they should bother Wade and his family whenever they see him in the city. Its classless, but its not your job to defend Wade. If you were so upset, you should have reported the post or PMed a mod. After Bosh left, a lot of people were writing stupid stuff about Bosh too. Guys talked about how they hoped he would bust his knee and never play again and some douchebag talked about how he wished Bosh got AIDS. Just report the posts and move on. Miami fans didn't come on the Raptors board though because it was an emotional time (I know its the internet, but people need time to vent.)

It's just poor manners to go to someone's house (board) and point out how yours is better and what is wrong with theirs.

Schadenfreude wrote:I am angry. Angry that events have transpired that lead me to write this statement. For those of you who like to eat dessert before soup, my conclusion at the end of this letter is going to be that I find it necessary, if I am to meet my reader on something like a common ground of understanding, to point out that if you want to hide something from Teddy Bruckshut, you just have to put it in a book.
Currently, Teddy Bruckshut's rejoinders merely break down our communities. As you will see in the near future, this is only the tip of a gigantic iceberg. If you can go more than a minute without hearing Teddy Bruckshut talk about lexiphanicism, you're either deaf, dumb, or in a serious case of denial. He can get away with lies (e.g., that he commands an army of robots that live in the hollow center of the earth and produce earthquakes whenever they feel like shaking things up a bit on the surface) because the average person cannot imagine anyone lying so brazenly. Not one person in a hundred will actually check out the facts for himself and discover that Teddy Bruckshut is lying. He seems to assume that those who disagree with him should be cast into the outer darkness, should be shunned, should starve. This is an assumption of the worst kind because everything I've said so far is by way of introduction to the key point I want to make in this letter. My key point is that one can usually be pretty sure when he's lying. Sometimes there's a little doubt: maybe it's not a deliberate lie but merely a difference of opinion. But when Teddy Bruckshut claims that I and others who think he's a hateful kook are secretly using etheric attachment cords to drain people's karmic energy, there's no room for ambiguity: he's surely lying.
If we let Teddy Bruckshut strip the world of conversation, friendship, and love, who's going to protect us? The government? Our parents? Superman? Probably none of the above. That's why it's important to teach dour know-it-alls about tolerance. I hardly need to tell you that while he's out creating a mass psychology of fear about an imminent terrorist threat, the general public is shouldering the bill. Sadly, this is a bill of shattered minds, broken hearts and homes, depression and all its attendant miseries, and a despondency about Teddy Bruckshut's attempts to perpetuate myths that glorify deconstructionism.
Far be it for me to create a climate in which it will be assumed that our achievements reflect not individual worth, talent, or skill, but special consideration. The largest problem, however, is that some people believe that one day Teddy Bruckshut's cringers will disabuse Teddy Bruckshut of the notion that he acts in the name of equality and social justice. Such people are doomed to disappointment, especially when one considers that if one could get a Ph.D. in Exclusionism, Teddy Bruckshut would be the first in line to have one. In closing, please remember that my ultimate goal is to look into the future and consider what will happen if we let Teddy Bruckshut make all of us pay for his boondoggles. If I advance, follow me. If I stop, urge me on. If I retreat, kill me.

I find the warning for reporting an unworthy post to be pretty lame. What were the circumstances around that? If it was clearly frivolous I guess it was ok. If you did it to get back at him for something, then it was pretty bad IMO.

Teddy Bruckshut wrote:What's going on with this message board? It's becoming a circus. First, I get a warning from Flash3 for accusing someone of being a bandwagon/fair weather fan, which is laughable because I've seen him "bait/attack" other members with much more fuel than that. Then I get a warning from Blame Rasho for REPORTING AN UNWORTHY POST? HUH? WHAT? WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? It makes no sense at all.
I have a feeling I am being singled out and picked on due to Flash3 telling me that there's a file on me, and that wouldn't surprise me. But seriously.... this is getting out of hand now. Something needs to be done.
I warned you, after editing your posts and others, too who I warned, as well, multiple times but to no avail. Hence, the warning which got your attention.
Here's my post:
This is a warning regarding the following post made by you: viewtopic.php?f=6&p=24572479#p24572479 .
Once again, I've warned you publicly and edited your posts, but to no avail. Do not bait posters in this manner, it makes the mods lives of this board harder to enjoy and read the threads!
Here's your response:
Lol, whatever man. I don't even care. Completely unnecessary and I've seen Heat mods post much worse, but whatever it's easy to see that this board is modded extremely poorly.
You were warned, not suspended nor banned nor anything else. You cannot bait (What you did there) on the Gen Board like this, it only creates a mess for the GB mods. You've been here long enough to know what is expected, and what is not.

Re: These warning/suspensions are getting WAY OUT OF HAND
FWIW, since I was named in the OP's "indictment," note that I asked him more than once-- very civilly-- to stop creating a ruckus on the Bulls board with his insistent posting. I just put those requests in the thread itself rather than PMing him. But he knew that he was creating a scene and he chose to keep on doing it.
He had posted some incredibly inflammatory and demeaning stuff about Bulls fans-- not the Bulls, but fans and RealGM posters-- on the Heat board. For example, he wrote stuff to the effect that he wished Bulls fans would all burn in hell, and that if 70% of them committed suicide after free agency that wouldn't be enough, so Pat Riley should get busy with some more moves. Now, I don't have any big problem with someone writing that sort of thing on his home team's board, but some of our posters saw it and one of them sigged it. So every time he posted on our board, even if civilly (and he wasn't always civil), our posters could see that he hated Bulls fans' guts and was not just "coming in peace."
Add to that the fact that he couldn't actually stay civil if fans on a rival team's boards were criticizing anyone on his team, and couldn't stop posting the same things over and over again, yet wanted some sort of Teflon protection from any kind of nasty reprisals. I told him clearly and civilly that it wasn't OK, and he just kept on doing what he was doing. And then he got suspended. For him to say that it was totally without warning is totally without merit. It's pretty clear from his difficulties with other mods that this wasn't just a problem with Bulls board mods or with me in particular. The problem is staring him right there in the mirror. (And this is a guy who called me "SON" (all-caps) in an angry PM... real grown up.)
Not that any of this should really be that big of a deal. I had moved past it right away. But the OP apparently couldn't, b/c he's still roiling about it a month after the fact. Move on, be a good guy, and everything will be copacetic.

Ben,
it's clear that he never went back to see those edited posts or mentions of remarks from you on the existing thread(s) as I've done the same on threads on the GB where he's posted, but to no avail. But, as soon as I sent him a PM warning he exploded with this thread. lol
Seems he finally got the message.....
