Image re sizing
I know you guys are doing upgrades on the forum, so I was wondering if you could implement this. When a person posts a image on RealGm that is too big, it goes out of the frame. Is there any way to re size them to fit in the frame? Other boards seem to be able to do this, and I dont know if its compatible, but it might be worth a shot.

Re: Image re sizing
It's not a good idea? It wont truly resize it, more like squishing it. What is someone coded a 10mb picture and virtually resize it to fit the thread?
[img height=100 width=100]http://www.pic.com/10mb.jpg[/img]
Its not really efficient.

I was going to ask about this too. BBCode already has this, but I guess it's disabled in our [img] tag.
[img={width}x{height}]{url}[/img]
http://www.bbcode.org/reference.php
As for efficiency, I agree in principle, but the current system isn't full proof. An animated GIF can be 100x100 and easily be 5MB or greater depending on the number of frames and compression used. It is much more likely for a realgmer to post a large (in bytes) animated GIF than they are to post a large (in bytes) standard GIF/JPG/PNG/etc.
Two things I think should be considered:
1. Add support for the resize image tag
2. Make the main column of the forum wider. I guess they keep it overly narrow so they can sell more background ad-space, but if you put the interests of the forumers first you would make it a little wider. Larger images would then fit and we wouldn't have so much wasted space on the sides.

Re: Image re sizing
Image resizing is something we plan to bring back to the boards, either through automatic resizing or maybe a thumbnail system. Thanks for the suggestion.
