Why doesnt RealGM allow you to use the search system?

I looked at the FAQ and this isnt addressed. I can't even look past page 1 of my own posts.

What gives?

It's because it causes the whole site to crash/run slow whenever somebody uses it. So the admin turned it off a long time ago. I guess you can just try Google if you want to search for your posts.

Is this true? If so, I'd love for this to be fixed.

I miss the old system, where I could click on a good poster, and see what he has to say, in chronological order, at various forums within RealGM.

I miss being able to pm members as well. I understand it might be more difficult for mods, but RealGM is a discussion group to being with, and we're already talking with each other using message boards. However, some discussion can, and should, be private, and I'd like to see management reconsider the decision to remove pm's between members.

I was about to make a thread for this exact thing. I am looking for an old thread I posted in and I can't find it cause of this incredibly stupid handicap.

Often I'll use google - it helps as long as you can remember the thread title of jist of the thread. Other than that you can sift through your own post history.
