Moderation enquiry

Post#1 » by MavfanAus » Wed Feb 1, 2012 6:28 am

Ok, now firstly this is not a post to whine, I understand the banning I just recieved and feel whilst it was harsh, and whilst others do worse (much worse) it's understandable. However I am absolutely baffled as to the way it was introduced.

3 days ago, I came onto the forum and found out I was banned. Fair enough. Today, the ban was lifted. I found two messages in my inbox by the moderator that banned me (alucryts). Here's the image:

Now firstly, the first message (board warning issue) it had the link to the post I was warned about in it. As I said, it was a fair enough warning and something I would have took on board as to changing my posting behaviour. The second message had nothing other than me being banned. No link to why I was banned, nothing.

Now living in Australia, obviously the time these messages were sent to me I was asleep. However, the question I am raising is based on how I am supposed to take a warning and work on my posting methods when the individual moderator decides to warn me first, then ban me an hour later. Isnt that a little contradicting? Yes, I can take that warning now, sure. But what is the point of warning someone first, only to ban them an hour later (with only an explanation of me "baiting" given without a link or description) ??? Do moderators have an agenda on this board? It's a question, not a statement. Am I to watch what I say about others teams in the future just in case a mod gets offended over the post? Is that how RealGM works?

Someone feel free to explain.

The General Board has laid down a strict set of guidelines which are all explained in this post:

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1076395

It outlines that choosing to ignore these outlines can and will result in Warnings, Suspensions and perhaps ultimately bans.

Nothing works on a timeline and if you choose to post in an unruly manner, then the consequences (as you have experienced) will be taken out when necessary, not when it suits the poster best. Based on your notes I see this is not your first time for being warned or suspended, so this surely can't come as a surprise to you.

There are often times when we don't locate troublesome posts for quite a while so sometimes two notifications to the administration are required, this probably explains the request for a warning and later the suspension.

Once again though, if you choose to post in a specific manner, then per the General Board guidelines you will be held responsible for these posts regardless of your previous record.

If you have trouble following the guidelines then perhaps the General Board is not the place for you.

Any further questions feel free to contact me.

You received the warning. alucryts sent a warning and then notified the Admin of the warning. At that time the Admin looked at the post, the posters history ( warnings, comments, etc) and decided to suspend, thus notification you that based on your previous warning you have earned a suspension.
