I like how they are now.

The only improvement I would like is a search function. And less tempermental mods.

Nothing else is needed IMO.

Tubal,

The search function is mentioned here

viewtopic.php?f=40&t=1182906

and I think the Moderators are doing a great job.

I think for the most part they are. But consistency would be nice.

I was literally suspended for a week for saying 'cool story bro'. They said I was post padding or thread derailing. I've had an account for over a year and I have less than 700 posts. The last thing I do or care about is post padding.

I see people saying 'cool story bro' 5-10 times a day, and people who have been signed up less than 6 months with > 5000 posts

Well, it is post padding to only say 'cool story bro'. There's no need to make a post like that.

As far as others doing it there are two things about it: 1. we can't see everything. If you come across a post like this please report it and we'll deal with it accordingly. 2. just because someone else does it, it doesn't mean you are allowed to do it.

And since it was most likely me that you were talking about when referring to temperamental mods, let me tell you that I'm always calm when moderating here. I only get heated a bit during intense Wolves games which I follow as a poster but not as a mod, mostly.

I don't keep a mod scorecard, but you actually seem to be one of the more level headed ones Basti.

I understand why the rule is in place, and why I was reprimanded, but I didn't understand why it was worth a week suspension, especially since I got no warning, and other people are always doing it. It wasn't meant to post pad. I did it because I didn't think there was any point to the OP's post.

Anyway, for the most part, I think the mods do great. They have a rough job.

And as far as the forum search, since an actual word search is so database intensive, i think I (and other people?) would probably at least use a "user's previous post" search quite a bit. And since you could index the username, the query probably would be much less costly on the database.

Thanks.
