Howie baby,
It's a proposal I've made before but would like to put up for consideration again; I'd like to suggest the creation of a subforum on the OTB as a central place for games played on OTB forum.
The subforum would operate in the same way as the Trades and Transactions games subforum and would be moderated by the existing OTB mods.
Recent examples of the types of 'games' would be OTB Olympics and Winter Olympics, sig and avatar betting threads, the OTB March Madness threads (last year was the best Simpsons character bracket, which took 32 threads to manage each matchup) and of course the infamous OTB World Cup and associated threads of the sigs and avatars that came with it.
Upcoming threads would include draft threads and discussion threads for OTB fantasy basketball and each of the 3 OTB fantasy basketball leagues.
Aside from decluttering the OTB forum when "games" are on, another benefit of having a designated "game" sub forum is that it would give posters from other areas of RealGM to dip their toes in to more structured interactions with posters from the OTB which would help with integration; something that may not be happening very well at the moment, as the lack of "new blood" to the OTB would suggest.
Happy to discuss further.
Love Sof

Yes Howard this is absolutely needed so the General Off topic board doesn't get cluttered! I'm a strong advocate for this with Sofia, and am willing to have in depth conversations with you about it being made

I am not sure The GOTB needs a sub forum.

I would imagine this is something you'd want to run by Delaney, Geddy and Diop before mentioning it here: the mods of the forum itself need to be involved to see if they find that it fits within their vision for the forum...

The otb is usually pretty smooth and laid back. I doubt they'd have any extra work moderating a million draft picks or a game.
Plus it reduces clutter so they can focus on whatever else they do.

I still am not sure you need the extra space.
Feel free to make a thread on The GOTB with a presentation including what games you would play and how it would justify a sub forum.
