Want To Appeal A Warning

I got warned and it seems completely preposterous.

Again I'm writing this to appeal it, so don't send me another warning for writing that again.

I was warned because apparently that's racist. I'd like somebody to tell how that possibly can be taken in a racist manner, in such a racist manner that a warning is issued.

It's an obvious joke, and it's also pointing out the obvious. These Young Gunz are Amir Johnson, Demar DeRozan and Sonny Weems. None of these players are European, so I can't say that there's no Europeans in this group?!

Absolutely no logic behind this. Hopefully an admin reads this and lets me know about their position.

I wouldn't bother. People always seem to confuse legitimate parodying and being racist. Plus, it was just a warning. Just don't do it again and you will be fine.

There's a fineline between joking and being racist. Apparently, on RealGM there isn't. Which doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

It's self interpreted. Everyone has their own thoughts of what can be racist or not. There should be a fine line and all mods have different views on it.

It's impossible to satisfy everybody. Which is an obvious joke should not be considered as offensive as you are taking it to be.

I wasn't referring that Europeans are bad players and should not be allowed on the basketball court. Seeing as how three out of three of these Young Gunz aren't European, and if you have watched their videos/interviews, you would know they are far from anything European, so stating that no Europeans allowed as a joke should not be taken offensively.

First off, there is no Young Gunz handbook. So case in point -> this is a joke.

Tone\Sarcasm etc can be difficult to convey on teh interwebz.

To use an over the top comparison, just like you don't joke about having a bomb in an airport, don't joke about race on the Raptors board. Because I guarantee you someone is going to get pissed off.

With the amount of nonsense that people post regarding this issue over the last 4-5 years, which I'm sure you've read some of, it's not always easy for the mods to sift through and assume that someone is joking and don't mean any sort of offence. For every person that says they are only joking, there are more that are dead serious.

And honestly, its a pretty stupid joke. The only thing that it's going to do is piss someone off and create more work for the mods, all because you made a stupid joke.

It takes a lot to offend me and I certainly cross the line when joking with my pals - the thing is though; people on the internet are over-sensitive wackos or gingers... I'm not sure which yet.

Get your panties out of your crack - the Raps board have had whiney posters about race for a long time. I don't doubt they cracked down on it. They are in a no-win situation: allow vague racial/origin of players or don't allow any. Don't even mention a player's nation or origin, and you will be fine. That's a difficult board to mod.

Back before MLK their were restaurants saying no blacks around, etc. Those kinds of things are not very welcoming, there are many European fans who use this forum I don't think those types of comments should be allowed here. Hell I don't really care why don't we all get together and tell each other some fine and dandy black jokes? What do you guys call a black priest? Anyone care to follow up?
