I would suggest not allowing ballboys to start threads. I think this would get rid of a lot of useless threads. Thanks.

That would promote post padding. Every thread will be reviewed on it's own merit for adherence to the rules for everyone.

What does the RTT thread promote? If not the whole thread at the very least page 90-100 when you guys have a race to see who starts the next thread.

At least this rule would actually save us from having a lot of repeat threads where ballboys who never check the site break news from 8 days before like the Beasley trade. And all the troll threads that PBPs start as well as SPAM.

You obviously don't know what the definition of post padding is. Having a conversation, whether it interests you or not, is not post padding. Post padding is posting specifically to boost your post count in order to artificially enhance your reputation. It's mostly banned because spammers would use the post count to look like real posters.

Regardless, if I wanted to pad my posts, RealGM offers and promotes many outlets to do so.

In regards to spammers, they wouldn't be able to spam the boards because they couldn't start threads until they've reached 200 posts.

And when you host one of your RTT threads, you've done so by going "sjfoadjfioa" for the last few pages of the thread. I personally don't care, but don't try tell me that is not post padding.

So in theory I agree with the OP and think it would make the boards less cluttered. I just think that RealGM who struggled to get a PM system going, doesn't have a search, is not going to add this feature, not because of what you've suggested DR.

If you want to avoid spam, don't click on any thread with less than 10 posts.

i agree with the OP. having titles under your name is useful, and also promotes padding. it also promotes action in the boards. action is good for everybody (TWSS). but new users may not be fully aware of other threads that are nearby, or the emotions and reactions they may get.

and it is not hard to get enough posts to not be ballboy anymore. once you aren't ballboy, you have shown a little bit of commitment to the site and probably have some familiarity with the other users. (now if i can just get this "rookie" off my title! geez "pro-prospect" sounded better than "rookie!")

edit: 1250=bench warmer! woot! :rocking:

Yeah it would be pretty dumb to do this only because you are going to have ppl spamming the forums just to get their post count up. You will see a lot of in b4 <insert witty name here>, IBTL, in b4 the ban, etc, etc you get my drift.

I do agree that ballboy's start a lot of dumb threads but I have seen a few ball boys with decent threads before so it wouldn't be a first to see it again.
