Which O'Neal will be more valuable to the Celtics in 10-11?
Shaq
Jermaine
What kind of question is that...?

Perhaps they should also open a poll of:
Which Jones will be more valuable to the Pacers in 10-11?
Solomon
Dahntay
Or...
Which Ben will be more valubale to the Pistons in 10-11?
Gordon
Wallace

Yeah, I LMAO when I heard that the Cs are going to have both O'Neals on their team. Say goodbye to team chemistry, and say hello to lots of ass-sitting due to injuries.

Doesn't seem that bad. Are you claiming it has an obvious answer? Because I don't even know which one is supposed to be obvious,
If the complaint is just that neither of them is very important, well, maybe. But even small changes are significant for a Finals team.

RealGM often baffles me with the front page poll. I've learned to not pay attention to it.

I'm saying that it's not poll-worthy.

I personally think that there IS an obvious answer and that it is SHAQ. For a team like the Celtics, where these players will matter most is in the playoffs, a rested Shaq will show up for them in the postseason. On the other hand you look at JO who regularly shoots around 40% as one of the biggest guys on the court, and then you look at his last postseason run with Miami where he shot 3-14, 1-10, 1-7, 1-3, 3-10 for at total of 9-44 over 5 games. I mean...the guy took about 9 shots a game and couldn't even make 2.
I should note, though, that the poll isn't really reflecting an "obvious answer" as it is something like 57% Shaq to 43% JO.

But JO will fit their defensive philosophy better (while still being enough to give Dwight Howard some trouble), and even though Shaq might be more effective on offense he's also going to stick out badly in their overall schemes like Ron Artest does in the triangle.

yea...i mean i understand that JO is the superior defensive player, but maybe i just can't get last years postseason out of my head...i mean the guy shot 3-14 in the first game then vowed that he would "give Wade more help" the next game...where he shot just 1-10...

guess i just lost respect for him there.

Defense (J'Oneal) or Offense (Geriatrics Superman)?
You decide...

Well I think that in Boston's system, JO won't be asked to do too much on offence. He'll just be needed to hit the odd mid range jumper and crash the boards. With the Heat he was asked to do too much at this stage in his career and it doesn't help that they were going up against probably the best defensive big rotation in the league in the playoffs.
However, on the defensive end, JO still makes a difference. I hated him when he played in Toronto but the one thing I had to admit is that he brought great defensive intensity to our team and I think that is something that he'll be able to contribute to Boston.
I also like the Shaq signing for Boston but with Rondo handling the ball alot and the main scoring options being at the 2 and 3, i wonder how many post iso touches Shaq is really going to get. Like someone else said, I feel like Shaq isn't the ideal fit for the Boston system. But i guess when you can snag someone like him for the minimum, you do it and worry about fit later.

Lol. The next one should be:
Which James is more valuable to the Heat?
Lebron James
James Jones

Jermaine O'neal isn't good anymore... As a rebounder I actually like Yi Jianlian better at this point of time.

Would it have made you happier if they had said, "which center will be more valuable for the Celtics in 10-11"? It's irrelevant that they share the last name; the poll would still exist if their last names were different. We are talking about a newly opened hole in the starting line-up of the near champion Celtics, and you comparing that to two random players on lottery teams just shows that you are wildly ignorant

Both are pretty much washed up. JO was horrible for us last season, and from what I could tell, Shaq didn't make the tiniest bit of difference for the Cavs.
