Warning Level & Future Warnings...

I was banned last week. I deserved it. Advice: Don't post drunk and in a bad mood on RealGM as a Raptors fan because there are way too many things to get mad about on here (and in real life) about the Raps. I'm sorry for my behavior and will try make sure I don't get that aggressive towards posters and mods again.
I was, however, wondering how the Warning Level works on our profiles. I've searched and couldn't find anything concrete. I'm guessing the higher you are, the better you are, but I was at a 4 recently despite only having one warning in nearly a decade. Still not sure how the warning level works.
I'm going to tone down my... uh... tone... when posting but I want to make sure I don't end up banned for anything. I've been staying away from any posts I may go off on to avoid arguments but I just don't want something to be taken the wrong way regardless and get banned from a forum community I've been a part of this long.
TL;DR version: Can I get a definite definition of the "Warning Level"? The Forum rules I've read say a warning (or suspension, I'd assume) is considered for any punishments within 6 months? Is this up to date?
I'm not going to go buck wild either way, but don't want to get into any discussions that may be considered "aggressive" or anything if it could end up in me being banned from here.
Just trying to stay out of trouble and stay active on the board at the same time.
