Malware on RealGM

A few days ago I got a virus/trojan/malware from RealGM. I clicked on "forums" from the main page, and then on "off topic". This is when the malware popped up onto my cpu.

I have went on several public cpu's since, and the malware has infected each of those cpu's in the exact same way (forums, off topic, then bam, it has sprung up).

The name of the malware is: "Vista antispyware security 2011 unregistered version". It's a name-changing malware so replace the vista with whatever OS you use and that's what shows up on your cpu.

It's tricky to get rid of, but simple if you know how to do it. This malware will not allow you to open any program, you can't use your browser or run your anti-virus program.

You have to download "rkill" and "malwarebytes anti-malware" onto a USB and then put the USB into the infected cpu and run the programs. It should remove the infections no problem. It's a pain in the ass.

You can find lots of info on how to remove it.

I just find it interesting that the malware would pop up in the same manner, regardless if I'm on my home cpu or public library cpus, all of which have good anti-virus programs. Even 3-4 days later, when you'd expect the issue to have been resolved, the same thing happened in the same process on multiple cpus where I tried to access this site.

Step up your game, RealGM. You're slacking.

It might be an Ad, or it more likely might be someone's Avatar. Unfortunately we can't limit Avatar/SIG hosting sources yet.

But please voice your current issues with this malware in the link above.

Thanks,
