i've always wondered this would be an incredible improvement for the board. I'm not sure how technically tough it is to do, but how about notifying posters when their post was quoted/replied to? A simple standard inbox message.

I agree.. It's hard to remember every post you've made and therefore hard to respond when people quote you.

I'll take this under advisement for when we next do board upgrades.

i like this idea. but if someone were to accidentally make a thread that blows up, they might stop checking their inbox. notification of being quoted would be very interesting.

there is a star in threads i post in. and the threads change color if i have read them. maybe something along the lines of changing the color of the star if my post has been quoted or something?

We will look into it when it's time to do the next upgrade.

Not sure when that is though.

Is there a way to do this through e-mail? On some other forums I post on, they send you an e-mail when someone replies to your post. A notifications tab on our User Control Panel would be sensational.

I was going for best quote ever. As a relatively new user (a little less than 2 years since I found this place) I find it remarkable that there are so many contributions of users in building this website. It is a true community effort. Well done, all!
