I was wondering if there was a possibility of creating a like button, if someone were to share the same view as a poster they can just press the "like" button on the post as opposed to making another one with the same views. Or to show support one can press the button, it encourages creative posting and people would be recognized for it.

I'll take it under advisement for when we next do board upgrades.

Not true, Howard. The word "Like" has been around for ages, but hit it's peak during the glory days of Clueless!
